During the 18th century, fabrication of porcelain became more or less “public secret” and new factories were opened in Germany, England and France. In Austria, there was for a long time only the factory in Vienna with a monopoly for the whole monarchy. For that reason, foundation of any porcelain factories in Bohemia was not permitted for several decades.
