Beginnings of the Bohemian porcelain

During the 18th century, fabrication of porcelain became more or less “public secret” and new factories were opened in Germany, England and France. In Austria, there was for a long time only the factory in Vienna with a monopoly for the whole monarchy. For that reason, foundation of any porcelain factories in Bohemia was not permitted for several decades. So it happened that the first century of the European porcelain was without Czech participation…
